Solve ME/CFS Initiative shared today a tweet about an upcoming novella.
It is called "Sick" by Glenn Doherty.
It will be available Feb 28th on iTunes.

    From the presentation:
Sick,’ is a very funny novella, about a not very funny Illness.

This gritty tragicomedy follows an oddball group of sufferers on the fringes of society as they chaotically cope with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, M.E. for short. A disease that an estimated 20 million people world wide, suffer from.

The numbers are growing, the professionals haven’t got a clue. It’s time someone got to the bottom of it.

Set In North London, the story follows the sometimes feckless, Joe, who spends the little energy he has on searching for anything that can make him better.

If you have M.E. read it. If you know anyone with M.E. read it. If you have no idea what M.E. is...definitely read it.

I used to live in North London. I was eventually trapped enough by the fear of crime; heaven knows what it would have been like with ME! (Maybe it's better now, although of course there are safer areas and less safe areas.)

I sympathise enormously with those trapped equally by their environment and ME.

This is available now. Has anyone had a look? I can't read long texts, unfortunately, otherwise I'd dive right into it.

Just bought in on Amazon, I’ll give it a try this weekend:)

My cognitive abilities have not been impressive lately and PEMing hard today, plus traveling to our summer house for the long weekend, so no guarantees. Using all my tricks to get out of this alive, so hopefully I’ll get a few pages in over the next couple of days:thumbsup:

It’s on both iBooks (iTunes) and Amazon, which means through either one you can read it on your computer (@Trish )

You don't need a Kindle to read books in Kindle format. There is a free Kindle App supplied by Amazon for iOS, Android, Mac and PC - just download and install whichever one is relevant to you. You can then read anything that is sold for the Kindle.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/kindle-dbs/fd/kcp

I do have a Kindle, but I also use the free app on my PC. Which one I use depends on where I'm sitting or lying down.

P.S. A Kindle has some bells and whistles not available on the app - but since it's free I don't think people can complain too much.

OK, so I've downloaded the Kindle for Android app on my mini tablet computer and bought the book for £1.99. I'll let you know when I get around to reading it.

I downloaded this several years ago. It seems to have disappeared. When I try to open anything in my Kindle Content folder, I get the message "To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it."

When I click on "Select a program from a list of installed programs", there is nothing in the list that looks remotely like an e-reader.

Maybe try downloading the app again @Little Bluestem ?

It should appear as Kindle in the software list as far as I'm aware.

It has to be downloaded and installed. I would definitely suggest downloading the latest version of the software. Do you remember if you installed it?

Edit : On Windows 10, which is what I'm using, the Kindle app appears in my installed programs list as "Amazon Kindle".

I must have because I was able to use it for a while. Then it was gone. The telephone lines in my little town have gone from bad to worse, which means my dial-up connection has gone from bad to worse. I doubt that I could download a file of that size anymore.

@Little Bluestem they have an in-browser solution too. If you bought it on amazon you should find the book under “my content and devices” as well, where there is an option to open it online.
