This is a reasonably new symptom of mine; my right ankle is sore. It is not a constant pain like soreness, more like it is burning. Anyone else is experiencing anything like this?

I'm positive that I did not sprain or hurt it in some way.

It is usually worse first thing in the morning, it looks slightly puffed up compared to the left one. However I wouldn't say it is swollen.

It also creaks a lot. Really annoying. Any idea whats why this is happening and anything I could do for this feeling to go away? I tried ice packs but it didn't work.

I've not had this symptom. Though sometimes I forget symptoms I haven't had in a while.

Not in the ankle, but I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with a burning knee. It is back to normal by morning. I have no problems with the knee at other times. I doubt if it is arthritis. It possibly occurs with the cycle of the illness but am unsure how. I stopped noting the occurrence of symptoms.

I have a burning elbow since today. (Well, it's not in the elbow.) It feels a bit like an open wound without the wound. Is this like the burning you mean? I don't know what it is. Maybe an inflammation (in the muscle or a nerve...)? Maybe an infection?

I had a chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon (still hurts sometimes) and here warmth helped. The same holds for my lower back.

From a sports medicine book I learned there a different kinds of inflammations (although I don't know them in detail) - some where cooling helps and some where warming helps. In sports, some people use enzymes against inflammation problems; or even Ibuprofen. Sometimes, comfrey or other herbs help me (as you can guess, this is experimental).

@Inara, sorry for the sore elbow. My ankle felt like the way you've described; wound like. Then it went on like if someone was holding it tightly. The dr suggested Ventrotex and it helped a bit. I now stopped using it.
    Get well soon.

Hi @erin, so your sore ankle got better? What is Ventrovex (couldn't find anything)?

I'm sorry Inara it is actually Venotrex. I wrote it wrong. It is a kind of medicine that increases the bloodstream to problem areas. It is prescribed for varicus veins and also maybe for hemeroids. I think it is made from natural substance like horse chestnut.
