Unrest Film by Jen Brea will be broadcast Monday, January 8th on PBS’s ‘Independent Lens’ at 10 PM EST/9 PM CNT. This film is about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).

Don't forget to let friends and family know Wednesday or Thursday prior to the Monday broadcast. I am going to e-mail everyone in my address book. I have been letting my doctor's know for months now but if you have an appointment coming up, even if it is with your dentist or massage therapist, let them know. I printed out the information and just handed it to them along with the information to her TED Talk. Just copy and paste the information below for e-mails or to print out a slip for your doctors.

This is the information I gave to doctor's and will e-mail out.

The trailer is at the PBS Independent Lens website. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/watch-video/

It appears that at least some full films can be viewed on this website, but I have no idea if that will be the case with "Unrest."

When it was announced that it was coming to PBS in a year that seemed so long to wait... recent years seem to have have passed so quickly for me.

I hope so. I was wondering how other countries were going to be able to view.

For my PBS station (OPB in Portland, Oregon) the first showing of Unrest will be Monday, Jan 8, at 11 PM. And then the rerun will be Wednesday, Jan 10, at 4:00 AM.

Folks should definitely check their local stations for the correct time. So many of them are at 10 PM that I just assumed it would be at 10 PM for me, too. But nope!

Just a heads up! I hope others out there can either watch it or record it. I think it helps to show the station that there is a lot of interest in this film even if you already own the DVD.

It unfortunately does not seem to be scheduled on the UK version of PBS America, at least not in the next 10 days.

The only workaround to this for people that won't be getting the broadcast is the 'Independent Lens' site but it might be blocked in your country. Although showing in the US, it will not be broadcast for my area's PBS channel only a SPECIFIC PBS channel that not everyone in my state gets. And I am in a very populated area! Anyway, here is a link to the site that will have the video up on the 9th. Hope it works. Otherwise, you will have to buy a DVD. Also, there is streaming on VIMEO and that is where I watched it.

It should be on this page on the 9th, US time zones. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/watch-video/

It won't even be on in my area as there are two PBS channels and I don't get the one it will be broadcast on. So I rented it through VIMEO and you can view it on the 9th on the 'Independent Lens' site. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/watch-video/

    Thanks for the information. @MsUnderstood

Can anyone tell me if it has subtitles for the hard of hearing on the UK version? If it doesn't I would have to think very hard about whether or not I wanted to spend £17 for something that will be absolutely exhausting for me to watch, with little hope of me taking much of it in.

No, I've never had a Twitter account, and I don't know anyone who has.

Hi @Arnie Pye , I can't imagine the UK version being different from that available in North America. When we watched our Unrest DVD a couple of nights ago, our biggest frustration was figuring out how to turn off the English subtitles. After many attempts, we eventually were successful. So yes, Unrest most certainly is suitable for the hard of hearing. Otherwise, we found the sound better at home than both times viewing it at film festivals in movie theatres.

@Andy Do you have a Twitter account? Could you ping either @JenBrea or @UnrestFilm and ask if the UK DVD's have English subtitles? We figure they do but @Arnie Pye wants to be certain.
