I think that's great! Also, others can pitch in. I would be happy to hack away at people's posts in the languages I claim to be able to speak.

Its so much easier to translate into your own L1 than it is to do it in the other direction (L1= first language!)

I would hope that a large enough proportion of them would not. One of the Norwegian patients who had a complete recovery and went back to work as a Dr raised the money and the profile of Fluge and Mella's work. Without her getting better then giving back we might not be as far ahead as we are now.

    edited to add:

Also we may not see a 'cure' in the traditional sense, more a remission. Once M.E is well understood and seen as biomedical disease process like MS then people wont run away from their dx. They will perhaps think of themselves as a PWME in remission, rather than running a mile as soon as they feel better (no pun intended with my metaphor)

Also let us not forget those we have lost along the way, and why we are all here and still fighting!

'Prone to making the facts fit their theories, academics have, for decades, gaslit ME/CFS sufferers by telling them their condition was all in their heads. To compound matters, a pliant British media happily preached the false biopsychosocial gospel and misery ensued. But the pandemic has changed everything: MPs have today called on the UK government to spend £100 million a year to research treatments for Long Covid – a sum that will hopefully put paid to an era of lies. Read the last part in David J Black’s series for SLN'.
