I think a PR consultant would have advised her not to lie in public as knowing that whatever she does is picked apart, anything she can't back up will get highlighted and will damage her brand. She has probably read some stuff on how to market yourself and may have been helped with presention skills - engage the audience with personal stories, lots of eye contact, pause before saying something so that it has more effect, make the audience laugh by repeated cake references etc.

I wouldn't, it would just be material for her lawyers to exploit

Yes, the way she coopted the "reframing the narrative of ME" for her own agenda, along with the traits you mention are what make me certain she has consulted a PR person. I did then go on to say that she appears to be manufacturing alternative facts when she goes off-script.

However, on the general topic of PR and branding, there are few scruples in that world as far as truth in advertising. In fact in today's world, Branding is Newspeak for Lying About Shit.

I know what you meant but i wouldn't, making fun of a liar with lawyers is not a smart strategy

Not all threads have to be about Esther Crawley.

I bet that there were loads of problems with Wessely making false claims over the years that just were not recorded. Now everyone is walking around with a recording studio in their pockets it's much easier for someone like Crawley to get herself into trouble.

I think you're being a little over cautious on this one. As far as I'm aware anagrams have never been illegal.

They are not, i just like to be very professional when going after institutions that will use every dirty trick against you. I aim to provide no ammunition, it makes her actions look extra bad when they can't even dig up any mud to try to sling.
I know its boring, its just how i think, i try to work 3-5 steps ahead

I don't know, "leathery screw", and "rawest lechery" might get someone into a lot of trouble  And those are nothing compared to the infamous "wet celery rash" :D

You're right of course @Valentijn, people have been sent to the gallows for anagrams less heinous.

There does seem to be a growing expectation that researchers should do 'public engagement' type stuff. That must not be fun if your work is so poor that a large number of people are able to pick it apart in front of you. Please cease and desist the harassing questioning of research?!
