A four-day event started yesterday at Stanford, held in conjunction with the EBML (the very impressive-sounding European Molecular Biology Laboratory: 'Europe’s flagship laboratory for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation with more than 80 independent research groups covering the spectrum of molecular biology').

Ron Davis will be speaking tomorrow (3 Nov, 13:35 California time, 20:35 UK time), in a 25-minute talk entitled 'Chronic Fatigue Syndrome'.

    The event blurb says:

The Stanford-EMBL: Personalized Health Conference addresses the promises and challenges of bringing systems biology research into medical practice. It assembles leading basic and clinical researchers to share and discuss the latest systems-wide data on:
    • the molecular basis for health and disease,
    • experimental models in which biomolecular systems-type approaches are developed and validated before bringing these approaches to humans, and
    • clinical and ethical issues that must be considered in order to bring new approaches into the public health and clinical arenas.

The programme is here. Live-tweeting is here.

    I'm not aware of livestreaming.

I looked at the posted schedule today. This one caught my attention.

“16:00 0:25 "Human Organs on Chips: A new tool for advancing personalized medicine" Donald Ingber (Harvard University)”

I can't remember where I got that link from but the tweets it lists aren't in temporal order, which is a bit of a pain. It's based on a hashtag, I think.

Does anyone with a clue about Twitter have any suggestions?

Do you think there's a better thing to use to get the latest tweets to show up? Hard to get information on the latest talks, otherwise.

We do, apparently - @Adrian runs it. I don't know the address, though.

    Would that help?

Sorry, I don’t know if our forum software features include a connection to twitter? It would be nice to have a seamless integration to our twitter account.

I'm not sure what it is you're seeking to do, MEmermaid! :)

All we need (I think) is for anyone who's interested to go to Twitter and put in some appropriate search term or maybe choose a particularly useful Twitter account to follow. Maybe Stanford Genome Tech is the one to follow:

I'm not sure what you want in terms of integration

    Our twitter account is

Tweets pasted into messages should show in the message.

Yes, the manual method works (logging onto twitter and pasting twitter posts here on our site). Is this what you are referring to?

Doh! If you click 'Latest' it puts them in order of the most recent first. :banghead:o_O

About 25 mins to Ron Davis's talk now.

So nothing new that I could see, but good that he's out there trying to get other researchers interested. Good that he promoted 'Unrest' too (assuming that he did, not just the Stanford tweeting people).
